This weekend, we have a Friday night show (Puppet Karaoke) and a Saturday afternoon show (Aspiga, Chris Fullerton, etc). Looking forward to both. Also, we're working on the constant improvements to the space. This week I've been working on a marquee to go above the Theater room. The intent is to make it look like a mini-Disney World or soundstage theater front, inside of The Loft... if that makes sense.
This past weekend I got to meet up with Alex from Puppet Karaoke (along with the puppet Hans Free) and Carolyn Busa to set things up for Friday's show. We played some games, chatted it up and Hans Free interviewed Carolyn. Here is just a small clip of the interview.
And here are the posters for this weekend's events. Come on out, enjoy the performances and hang with us.

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players
We are featuring The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players on Monday March 21st. I first heard about them a few years ago when my friend David Miller released the tribute album Hello Radio: The Songs of They Might Be Giants. Jason Trachtenburg covered Dr. Worm (along with covers by Self, Frank Black, Steve Burns and This Radiant Boy). David also told me all about the Slideshow Players. They're s a family band, made up of Jason, Tina PiƱa and their daughter Rachel. They play songs set to slide shows. It's really fun.
The show is Monday March 21st and it's only $8.00. Tickets are on sale here and at http://www.auctionhouseevents.com. Our space is very limited, so we always suggest to buy tickets in advance.
Here are a few clips and articles about the Slideshow Players:

The Film Club
So we're starting a film club. Basically it's our Thursday night free movie night, but also a club! We'll show films each Thursday night, talk about them, geek out, eat snacks, get fat, and go home happy. Every week!
More serious details are coming soon. No club fees, or commitment, just good times. In the meantime, here is our schedule for March, April and May.
3/5 CineQuiz: Ultimate Movie Quizzo (also the kickoff to our weekly film series)
3/12 The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
3/19 The Warriors
3/26 Shallow Grave
4/2 Guest Film (to be chosen by the club members)
4/9 The King Of Kong
4/16 Spinal Tap
4/23 Targets
4/30 Guest Film (to be chosen by the club members)
5/7 Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy
5/14 Wet Hot American Summer
5/21 24 Hour Party People
5/28 Guest Film (to be chosen by the club members)
We'll go into more detail on each film in the future. You may have seen some, but have you seen them on the big screen? And some of the others might be all new to you. I know I've only seen 4 on the list... and none of them in a theater.

This Week: Film Night, Matt DiVenti and more
This Thursday we're featuring the film "Safe Men". I haven't seen it yet, so I'm looking forward to it. This movie was recommended by (and is being hosted by) Steve Poponi... so you better be there! He may give you shit if you don't show up.
Here's a clip:
And Friday we have music by Matt DiVenti, Christopher Schoonover and Charis. I know Christopher from Win With Flynn and looking forward to seeing him live again. Tickets are still available.
Here's a Matt DiVenti Blue Light Session video:

New Website!
Welcome to the new website for The Loft @ The Auction House. We went with a simple blog format, but it's not the format that matters... it's the content. We'll be sharing info on upcoming events, photos and video from previous events, and much more as time goes on. Stick around!
