Tonight's Free Film Screening: Shallow Grave

Recap of the last few shows.
I posted some kind of crappy pictures from the last few shows. I have better ones and want to share them (as well as some video... eventually). The first I'll post are from last nights Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players show. It was a ton of fun, and everyone had a blast.
The Trachtenburgs started off the show with an episode of Rachel Trachtenburg's Homemade World and closed the show with their performance. Jason Trachtenburg's dad was in the audience and told many stories... he even talked about buying the Casiotone keyboard over 30 years ago that Jason is still using live.
Surprise opener Touching You offended everybody! He drove my parents right out of the room and made someone throw up. I swear.
Ortolan played an amazing set. They are unbelievable and going to be huge one day.
I also have some photos from Friday night with Troubador, Swie Back and This Is Capture. That show was put together in just about 5 days and one of the most successful to date. All of the bands were great and Swie Back played a killer first show. Looking forward to having all of them back at some point soon!

Audizen and The Atomic Square - Friday the 13th
Tom Ryan of The Atomic Square put together this amazing flyer. I both loved and hated the Friday the 13th game as a kid. At one point it was like one of 3 games that I owned and I played it for hours and hours. Just seeing this flyer makes me want to play it again. They should do a remake, but using the same style of gameplay. (Did anyone see the images of the new version of A Boy and his Blob.... amazing.)
Here's the flyer. Acoustic Opener is not a band, there will be an acoustic opener.
...with very special guest Ortolan
The opening act for The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players will be Ortolan! We've had them here once before and they were wonderful. They are a great addition to the show and we're looking forward to having them back.
Here's a video of their last show at The Loft:

New Facebook and Flyers
Mike Maier made an awesome new facebook group. It's for The Film Club at The Loft. As you may know, we're screening films every Thursday night for FREE. Our room seats 20-25 and we have a big screen. (I think it's 9') Anyway, please join our new facebook group at: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=71842881275
Also on the facebook group page we're taking nominations and votes for upcoming film nights. April 3rd will be a film chosen by the members of our film club (aka anyone who comes to see the movies!). So far the films suggested have been Johnny Got His Gun, 8 1/2, Incubus, Carnival of Souls, and Inside. Keep on suggesting them or I'm going to show Southland Tales.
Here is a flyer for this Fridays show.
I did not draw that amazing whale shark with a unibrow... but if I could draw, that's exactly how I would like to draw. The artists site is located at: http://www.heyfu.com/. I found it by searching for shark attack pictures on google.
Here is a flyer for the upcoming Trachtenburg show. We are working on the opening act now, and I think we have found the perfect opener. Details coming soon. Hopefully!

EVENT RECAP: Puppet Karaoke with Carolyn Busa
On Friday night we had Puppet Karaoke with Carolyn Busa. It was loads of fun and we're definitely doing it again. Great photos are coming soon, but in the meantime here are two video clips.
First is Hans Free (who we saw last week interviewing Carolyn Busa). Now he's singing I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry.
And then we had guest puppeteers. You could bring you own puppet (which some did) or you could build your own puppet using a variety of supplied parts. Here is a video clip of guest puppets Gamer Duck and Lars performing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
For more info on Puppet Karaoke, visit them online at http://www.puppetkaraoke.com, or on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=puppetkaraoke or here again at The Loft sometime soon!
